Description
Woodslee House is a medium-scale country house built between 1810 and 1830. It features a symmetrical design with low flanking wings and is two storeys tall with a basement, constructed against a slope. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with ashlar margins and a continuous base course.
The northeast elevation has five bays, with the inner three bays grouped together. It includes a central doorpiece with fluted pilasters and a panelled door that has sidelights and a decorative fanlight, all set below a segmental archway. The windows are sash style with a 12-pane glazing pattern, and the two-window wings are slightly advanced, with a central door on the right wing.
The southeast elevation consists of four bays and features symmetrically placed stacks in an unusual arrangement for the main house, topped with cavetto cornices. All roofs are piended and platformed, covered with graded slates.
Inside, the house contains some fine cornice plasterwork and panelled doors within architraves.
