Description
Priorslynn is a two-storey, three-bay house built between 1830 and 1840, with a late 18th century house at the rear sharing a common long wall. There is a courtyard steading to the south.
The front elevation of the house features roughly-coursed red rubble with contrasting grey ashlar long and short dressings, while the other elevations are mostly painted. It has a pilastered central doorpiece with a panelled door and a decorative fanlight. The windows are sash style with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The house has end stacks and a slate roof. The deeply recessed bay on the left is part of the earlier house and is linked to the steading. The west elevation is asymmetrical.
The steading consists of several building phases and is single storey with lofts. The courtyard is accessed through a segmental-arched pend on the west range, which has rectangular loft openings that are mostly blocked. Other ranges feature square-headed openings, and there are two asymmetrically sited unpainted gables at the west end of the courtyard.
