Description

Seemingly built as Free Church manse, presumably in or

dressings.

around 1843, but with alterations and big wing to S

containing main entrance.

ORIGINAL HOUSE: 2 storeys 3 bays, facing street; deep on

plan and gabled; built of coursed rubble with ashlar

dressings, raised margins, prominent end stacks with grouped

corniced octagonal flues. Original central door now a window

  • glazing all small-paned sashes.

ADDITION: advanced gabled bay faces street; 3 south-facing

bays, the inner bay set forward and containing house main

entrance; built of stugged red ashlar with polished dressings. Outbuilding to W of house.
