Description
This is a late 18th and early 19th century joiners’ workshop, originally a cottage, situated near Corrie Hall. It comprises a single-storey, three-bay cottage with a shed attached to the east gable, and an L-shaped smithy to the northwest. The shed is likely from the mid-18th century and may have originally been a separate cottage. The buildings are constructed of rubble with margins, and all painted.
The south elevation of the cottage features a central gabled porch and four-pane sash windows. A small-paned window and two doors are present in the attached shed. The smithy has a west-facing cart opening with a lintel, a south-facing door, and a small-paned window. The cottage has end chimneys, the eastern one being taller. The buildings have slate roofs, with roof lights on the smithy. Currently used as a store.
