Description
The Octagonal Pavilion at Crichton Royal Hospital, located on Bankend Road in Dumfries, was likely built in 1878. This garden pavilion features an octagonal shape with pointed bipartite windows on each side and a crenellated parapet. Constructed entirely of timber, it has seating mounted against both the inner and outer faces, as well as around a central pole that rises high above the faceted roof, topped with a finial and weathervane. The entrance door is oriented roughly east and includes T-shaped glazing bars with ventilators in the spandrels.
