Description

The Garden Pavilion at Bella Vista on The Causeway in Duddingston is a two-storey octagonal structure built in the later 19th century. It features a crenellated parapet and is integrated into a retaining wall to the west of the main house. The pavilion is constructed from bull-faced squared and snecked sandstone, with a moulded stepped dividing band between the ground and first floors.

On the south elevation, there is a diagonally-boarded timber door set within a shell-headed niche, supported by scrolled consoles. The first floor has round-arched openings, with the ground level at the rear. The windows are fitted with lying pane glazing.
