Description

Troquhain Sundial is a sundial dated 1616, with its pedestal dated 1855. It features an early and finely detailed freestone facet-headed design, shaped like a cube with sculptured masks positioned at angles. Each face has a metal gnomon, possibly made of iron. The sundial is supported by a red sandstone baluster pedestal from 1855, which bears the initials GM. EHM. and the inscription "HORAS NON NUMERO NISI SERENUS."
