Description
26-28 Agnew Crescent is an early 19th century single-storey cottage that has been divided into two cottages. It is built on sloping ground and features a lower single-storey addition with a piend roof. The structure is made of whinstone rubble with painted ashlar dressings, while No 28 has painted whinstone. The corners are accentuated with rusticated quoins.
No 26 has three bays, with a door on the right, a window in the centre, and another door to the left, which is closely positioned against the neighbouring property, No 24. This left door is enclosed by a passage and has a roof over it, creating a pend. The window is a plate glass sash and case type, and there is a flat-roofed dormer added in the 1950s.
No 28 features a door on the left, flanked by a window, and has a window in the lower addition to the outer right. This addition is linked to the earlier cottage with interlocking quoins. Both cottages have modern windows and rooflights, as well as deep-set doors with rectangular fanlights. The roofs are covered with graduated grey slates, and there is a broad stack on the right of the original cottage, featuring red sandstone rustication.
