Description
3 Acre Place in Wigtown is a mid-19th century, two-storey flatted tenement building. It is constructed of rubble with granite margins and quoins, featuring a rectangular plan that has a canted angle to the left. The building has a five-bay frontage with three central doors, all of which have fanlights, although one is blocked. Flanking these doors are two single light windows, and there is an additional door at the extreme right. On the first floor, there are five single light windows, which are sash and case style with either 12-pane or plate glass. The roof is piended and covered with modern concrete tiles, and there are substantial coped axial stacks. The left flank includes a door and a blocked door at the canted angle, with a dormer to the right. There have been regrettable alterations to the rear, including dormers and a flat-roofed extension.
