25 Lewis Street, Stranraer

25 Lewis Street in Stranraer is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay L-plan house built after 1845. The exterior is harled and features a base course, blocking course, quoin strips, a corniced doorpiece, and architraved openings on the first floor.

On the southwest elevation, which is the entrance side, there is a mutulated corniced doorpiece above a central entrance that includes decorative capitalled pilasters. The entrance has a four-panel timber door and a fanlight above it. Flanking ground floor windows have decorative consoled cornices and aprons, while the first floor has regular fenestration.

The windows are fitted with four-pane timber sash and case glazing, and there are Velux rooflights. The roof is covered with grey slate and features a mutual stone skew with the adjacent property at No. 23, broad rendered coped ridge stacks, and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1997. The property is also enclosed by a coped harled boundary wall, square-plan gatepiers with tapered moulded caps, a cast iron gate, and cast iron railings.
