Description
Stapleton Lodge is a single-storey lodge built around 1900, featuring a temple-fronted design with a north-facing tetrastyle Roman Doric portico. The exterior is finished in polished red ashlar, complemented by a sympathetic rendered addition to the south. The entrance includes a panelled door with a fanlight and flanking windows, all situated under the portico. The lodge has two bays on the flanks, which contain small-paned sash windows throughout. Additional architectural details include a cornice and blocking course, axial stacks, and a continuous slated roof.
The gate piers are square and topped with ball finials and cornices, also made of polished red ashlar. The quadrants are stugged and snecked, and the wrought-iron gates feature Art Nouveau ornamentation.
