Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey. Classical fronted farmhouse

(now 2 houses) with detached courtyard steading to E.

House: S elevation: coursed and squared red rubble, polished

dressings, lugged architraves and rusticated quoins (other

walls painted rubble or pebble-dashed); 3 wide bays, outer

bays slightly advanced and pedimented, central door with

sidelights. Ground floor windows have aprons; door and

glazing not original; one enlarged and one inserted window.

Coped stacks. Roofed with graded slates. Wings to E and to N.

Steading single storey with lofts; painted rubble and ashlar

dressings;

W range has 4-bay main block with wings, arcaded W-facing

cartshed (3 segmental arches), horizontal boarded loft

openings to elevations except gabled doorway; other ranges

plainer; tall long barn at S, horsemill demolished. All

roofed with graded slates.
