Description

Alexander Fraser of Dumfries, 1862. Italianate bank. 3

storeys and basement, 4 bays. Polished red ashlar, with

vermiculated quoins and window dressings at ground

floor; some sculptured ornament. Door at left with

round-arched head now blocked and with modern canopy; 1st

floor windows have sculptured aprons and round-arched

tympana, consoled cornices; 2nd floor windows in lugged

architraves. Plate glass sashes. Cill/string courses

divide floors; decorative frieze; cornice; balustraded

parapet; concealed roof.

Low coping and iron railings at basement area.
