Description

Andrew Meikle, circa 1781; 3-storey rectangular-plan grain mill, transversely-set earlier 19th century addition to S a storey

higher and full width of main range. Built of coursed red

rubble with ashlar dressings; late 19th/early 20th century

crow-steps to all gables; slated roofs.

Main range: 6-bay long E wall, ashlar-built at lower level

where wheel was formerly mounted; openings above with

small-paned glazing. 2-storey irregular and much-altered W

elevation. Harled N gable, with 1986 door slapping and visitor

access.

Addition is altered and has 2-bay S elevation; platform at W.

Lade is altered; good sluice gate at caul, and wide stone-built

outflow.
