Description

The Sinclair Memorial, located on Church Street in Dumfries, was designed by John Gregan in 1841. It is an open octagonal temple made of painted stone in the Tuscan style. The structure features a peristyle with one bay filled by a commemorative plaque. It stands on a two-step base and has a low-pitched, facetted slate roof. The memorial includes a statue of "Old Mortality and his Pony," created by the sculptor John Currie of Dumfries.
