Description
Seymour House, located at 25 High Street in Port William, is a later 19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay house. The exterior is rendered and lined, featuring a base course and architraved margins around all openings on the south elevation.
On the south (High Street) elevation, there is a central porch with an eaves cornice and blocking course. The round-arched doorway has a fanlight above it, flanked by round-arched windows on either side. The ground floor has bipartite windows, and above the outer bays are gabled dormer windows with side lights and timber finials.
The west elevation includes a window to the left at both the ground and first floors, with a lower wing attached to the left side. The east elevation features a window to the left of centre on the first floor. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing, while the porch windows have leaded coloured glass. The dormer windows have two- and four-pane glazing. The house has coped skews with a slight roll detail at the underside, rendered and lined gablehead stacks, and is roofed with graded grey slates and octagonal cans.
The boundary walls and railings consist of a low rubble wall to the south, topped with painted saddleback coping and iron railings that feature stylised thistle detailing. There is a similarly designed gate at the centre. The east and west sides have rubble walls with arched rubble coping.
