Description
Dunragit Signal Box is a signal box built in 1927 for the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a rectangular plan, featuring a piended roof and projecting eaves. The building has a brick base with three segmental-arched openings and a locking room door on the west side. There is a timber forestair and an operating room door on the east side. The upper stage is fully glazed on the east, north, and west sides, with a glazed bay that projects at the center on the north side. A narrow iron walkway runs along the east, north, and west sides, interrupted by the advanced bay, and is supported by decorative cast-iron brackets with an iron handrail.
The glazing in the upper stage includes sliding windows, while the lower stage features nine-pane fixed glazing. The roof is covered with grey-green slates, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.
