Description
Belvedere Lodge, part of the Cally Estate B Group, is an early 19th-century Gothic lodge of a T-plan shape with a height of one and a half stories. The lodge’s walls are of squared rubble construction, with ashlar quoins and margins. A single-story, square ashlar porch with cornicing is situated at the front, featuring pointed-arch openings and a studded timber door. Hexagon-paned windows are also present. The windows are set within chamfered ashlar margins and primarily consist of single-light openings, most retaining their original casements with decorative hexagonal multi-pane glazing, although some have been replaced with modern plate glass. Deeply overhanging timber eaves are supported by brackets, and the roof is slate-covered, topped by a pair of tall, centrally placed octagonal cans. The rear elevation has been partly painted and raised to two stories using brickwork, with a broad-eaved, slate piended roof.
