Description
High Lodge of Enrick is an earlier 19th-century picturesque lodge situated as part of the Cally Estate B Group. It is a single-story building with a rectangular plan and an apsidal end, though the rear elevation has a modern single-story flat roof. The building is characterized by a deeply overhanging roof that creates a verandah effect. The walls are harled.
The lodge features a timber gabled porch flanked by casement windows, some bipartite (two-part) and others tripartite (three-part), all fitted with diamond-pane glazing. The apsidal end is distinguished by a four-light window with pointed arch outer lights, also featuring diamond-pane glazing. The overhanging eaves are supported by timber posts that form the verandah. A central stack incorporates a pair of tall diamond cans. The roof is made of good-quality graded slate. The lodge’s style is similar to Whithorn Lodge, located at Galloway House in Sorbie Parish, Wigtownshire.
