Description
211-213 High Street in Edinburgh is an early 18th century tenement that includes elements from earlier periods. This six-storey building has an attic and features five bays, with a shop located on the ground floor. The structure is made of random rubble with ashlar dressings and has a cavetto eaves course. There is a four-window dormer in the attic. To the right, there is a pend leading to Jackson's Close, along with modern access balconies and part of a circular stair at the rear. A lower narrow block runs north, bordered by Jackson's Close and Lyon's Close, and it adjoins No 48 Cockburn Street, which is listed separately. The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing.
