Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay classical house. Squared sandstone with droved ashlar dressings. Base course, cornice and blocking course to front, panelled, polished ashlar pilasters.

NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: Ionic columned doorpiece with deep frieze and cornice to slightly advanced centre bay, deep-set panelled door with plate glass fanlight. Windows in flanking bays and to 1st floor above.

SE (REAR) ELEVATION: tall, gabled single storey projection at centre, small window to NE return; windows flanking at ground and at 1st floor, flanking small square panel.

NE ELEVATION: largely blank with single window to each floor to outer right.

SW ELEVATION: lean-to greenhouse addition at ground (entered externally); 1st floor window at centre above.

12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar gablehead stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen (1998) but reported to retain original details.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble boundary walls with keel-shaped coping to Seafield Street, rubble terracing to crematorium.
