Description

David Bryce and Robert Smith, 1872, with later alterations (John Bryce). 4-storey and attic 7-bay Scots Baronial tenement with shops to ground floor. Coursed ashlar (painted to ground). Round- and basket-arched openings to ground floor. Heriot's-style pediment flanked by obelisks to central 2-leaf timber-panelled door and strapwork to pediments of 1st floor windows. Stone-mullioned bipartite windows in penultimate bays from right and left at 1st and 2nd floors. Pedimented gables to 4th floor windows in 2 outer bays; twin crowstepped gables with apex stacks interlocking on semicircular-pedimented dormer.

Plate glass to shops and in timber sash and case windows to 1st floor; 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows above.
