Description
The well at Parliament Square on High Street in Edinburgh dates back to 1835. It has a large square plan and is made of ashlar stone. The wellhead features a substantial plinth supported by a leveling step, with a water outlet to the north that is now blocked. The main body of the wellhead tapers slightly and has moulded panels on each face. It is topped with a shallow pyramid cap that has a moulded cornice.
