Description

Circa 1835. 4-storey, 12-bay, classical tenement; shopfronts at ground floor to Nos 175-179; pend to recessed bay between Nos 169 and 173; droved cream sandstone with ashlar to ground floor and dressings; rubble to side and rear; base course; band course; cill courses to 1st and 4th floor windows; cornice and blocking course; painted shopfronts.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 2 shops to right at ground, each with window; panelled 2-leaf doors to left shop; tenement door with tripartite fanlight between shops (No 177); door in penultimate bay to left with plate glass fanlight. Regular fenestration above.

Predominantly 12-pane, timber, sash and case windows; some plate glass; single windows made bipartite to stairway above tenement door (No 177).
