Description

Circa 1878. Large free-style villa combining Gothic and

Renaissance features, and with high quality interior. 2

storeys, 3-bay front plus further octagonal angle bay at

left (SE) with steep facetted roof, 2-storey canted window in ball-finialled advanced gable right, elaborate open porch in

re-entrant angle with Peterhead granite columns; bipartites

in remaining bay with flanking shafts and linked vertically

by decorative panel. Decorative eaves. S (flank) elevation

to Craighall Terrace has cut down stack, its projecting

chimney breast having flues linked between floors forming

arched panel with bipartite set within.

Low ranges adjoin flanks and rear; also coach house.

Interior has extensive rich ceiling and cornice plasterwork,

doors with elaborate leaded glass panels.

Banded slender octagonal gatepiers, with decorative caps, are

set at SE angle.
