Description

Robert Morham, circa 1900. Asymmetrical pair of semi-detached 2-storey barge-boarded gabled Arts and Crafts cottages in garden ground. Red glazed brick to ground floor, white rendering above; red octagonal tile-hanging to gables. Base course; stepped tiled course between ground and 1st floors; broad bracketed eaves.

W ELEVATION: recessed porches to outer right and left with brick piers to corners; glazed timber panelled doors. Projecting gabled bay 2nd from left with tripartite window to ground, bipartite to 1st floor. Pentice-roofed canted window to ground in 2nd bay from right, tripartite window with gabled dormerhead breaking eaves above.

N AND S (SIDE) ELEVATIONS: brick pier of porch to W; gabled bay with single window above; single storey to E.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: 2 broad gabled bays. Irregular fenestration; glazed timber doors to outer right and left.

Predominantly 4-pane glazing to upper sashes, plate glass lower, in timber sash and case windows. Red tiles to roof; decorative terracotta ridge tiles. Corniced red brick stacks with circular cans. Cast-iron down pipes.
