Meadowbank Lodge, Duke's Walk, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh

Meadowbank Lodge, located at Duke's Walk in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, was designed by Robert Matheson and completed in 1858, with some later additions and alterations. This single-storey and attic Gothic lodge features an asymmetric design with multiple gabled roofs and steep pitches, along with distinctive diamond flues. It is constructed from squared and snecked stugged sandstone, accented with polished dressings and a base course.

The lodge has tripartite and bipartite windows, as well as arrowslits in the gables. The entrance is on the north elevation, featuring an off-centre timber boarded door set in a stop-chamfered Tudor-arched surround. There is a round-arched opening on the west side with a plaque above it. A later lean-to extension has been added to the east.

The windows are later timber casements with plate glass, and the roof is covered with graded grey slates. The building also has stone kneelered skews with gabletted skewputts, along with corniced wallhead and ridge stacks that have diamond flues and octagonal cans.
