Description
18-22 West Nicolson Street in Edinburgh is a building dating from 1824, with alterations made in 1892. It features a tall single-storey painted droved ashlar screen wall facing West Nicolson Street. The wall includes a pilastered semi-circular archway with two orders of engaged shafts, and there is one door in the advanced market entrance bay. On the western quadrant, there is one door and one window bar, leading to a single-storey office on the eastern side that linked with now-demolished buildings on the northern side of Gray's Court. Additionally, there is a segmentally arched gateway with a single order of shafts and a blank panel above, all part of the short droved ashlar screen wall that once led to Gray's Court.
