Description

Circa 1800. Long 2-storey, near-symmetrical 5-bay block accommodating flats and shop. Sandstone rubble, harled to E side elevation; rendered to N principal elevation. Margined windows; eaves/lintel course; low eaves; quoin strip.

N (CLYDE STREET/ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: tripartite shop off-centre right with door to centre and window slappings flanking. Bay to left with Gibbsian surround, former door now blocked as window (lower part of surround removed). Window to outer left. 3 regular widely spaced windows at 1st floor with 2 closely spaced windows to outer right.

E (MAITLAND STREET/SIDE) ELEVATION: gable elevation with doorway to outer left.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: forestair off-centre right with modern aluminium porch at 1st floor. 2-storey wing with tiled roof projecting from outer left.

Mostly aluminium replacement windows with some 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; ashlar coped skews; brick stacks.
