Description

Walker Bridge, designed by engineer David G Proudfoot and dated 1896, is a single span plate girder canal bridge over the Union Canal in Edinburgh. It features a pierced arcaded cast-iron parapet and ashlar end piers topped with ball finials. The soffit is supported by seven riveted beams. The bridge has squared and snecked sandstone rubble abutments with droved dressings, and there is a commemorative panel on the northeast pier.
