Including Boundary Walls, And 17 And 19 Viewforth Square, Kellyden, 104 Viewforth

This building, including the boundary walls and the properties at 17 and 19 Viewforth Square, was designed by John Oliver around 1859. It is a single-storey and basement classical villa with a symmetrical three-bay rectangular plan and recessed single-storey wings on either side. The exterior is constructed of squared and snecked stugged sandstone rubble, featuring a base course, cornice, blocking course, strip quoins, and droved grey sandstone surrounds for the windows.

On the southwest entrance elevation, there is an advanced pedimented central bay with steps leading up to a pilastered and corniced doorpiece. The entrance features a four-panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight above it. There are single windows in the flanking bays and in the wings.

The northwest side elevation has single windows in three bays on the left, with a smaller window in the bay to the right. The outer right bay, which is the wing to the left of the main elevation, is advanced.

On the northeast rear elevation, there is a small blind window in the center, with single windows in the flanking bays.

The villa has 12-pane timber sash and case windows at the front, and 15- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows on the sides and rear. The roof is covered with grey slate and features corniced wallhead stacks on the northwest and southeast sides.

The interior was not seen during the inspection in 1997.
