Army Careers Information Office, 73 Hanover Street, Edinburgh

The Army Careers Information Office, located at 73 Hanover Street in Edinburgh, is a former house built between 1784 and 1790, with later alterations made at the ground level. This three-storey building features a basement and attic, and has a three-bay façade. The ground floor includes a shop with a large shallow bow window, which is flanked by a pair of pilastered doorpieces that have plain metal fanlights above them, all topped with a single cornice. There are steps leading down to a restaurant in the basement. The left side of the building showcases long and short quoins, while the roof is adorned with a pair of piend-roofed dormers.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12 panes. The building is finished with ashlar coped skews, a rendered stack, and grey slates.

The interior was not seen in 1995. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings that lead to the steps.
