Description

The livestock sheds on New Market Road in Edinburgh were designed by James A Williamson, Superintendent of Works, in 1912. This structure features a five-aisled steel frame that serves as a cattle shelter, topped with a roof made of corrugated asbestos and glass. Inside, there are cushion capitalled columns that support segmental-arched lattice work and segmental-arched roof trusses. The gables are boarded, and there are cattle pens located on the ground level.
