Description
Gracemount House, located at 128 Lasswade Road in Edinburgh, dates from around 1800 in its current form, although it likely incorporates work from around 1770. The building features a single-storey with a mansard attic and a basement. The eastern entrance front is constructed of ashlar stone and includes a central bay with a pediment. This bay contains a tripartite doorpiece supported by columns and pilasters, topped with a pediment and a fanlight set in an arch. There are bows with tripartite windows on either side of the entrance. The rest of the house is built from rubble, with the southern elevation also featuring a pediment. There is a Victorian addition to the southwest, which includes masonry dormers, two bows on the western side, and one Victorian bow.
