Description
Woolley Hill House is an earlier house with a front dating from the early 19th century, around 1804. It is constructed of ashlar with a stone-tiled roof that is set behind a plain parapet. The building has three storeys and features three windows in the main facade, which are sash windows with architrave surrounds. The side windows on the first floor have flat cornices above them, while the central window is topped with a triangular pediment. There are plain strings at the first floor level and at the window sill level of the first floor. The house has a moulded and dentilled cornice.
The central doorway has a semi-circular head, complete with a keystone and imposts, and is flanked by pilasters that support an entablature and pediment. On either side of the central door are glazed French doors. The side elevation features an angular bay that rises through all floors, with sash windows set in plain reveals, and a French door on the ground floor of the bay. At the rear of the house, there is a long range of low outbuildings, likely dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, which extends north along Woolley Street.
