Description
The Toolhouse at St Cuthbert's Church on King's Stables Road in Edinburgh dates back to 1838 and was restored in the 1980s. It is a two-storey, three-bay house with a piend roof, situated on a narrow, wedge-shaped site that is built into the churchyard wall. The building is constructed of coursed ashlar stone and features a cill course at the first floor and a string course beneath the eaves.
The northwest elevation has a two-leaf timber panelled door flanked by a window, with two additional windows located above. The stone at the eaves is inscribed with the date 1838. The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, and the roof is covered with grey slates. The building also has corniced, rendered stacks with circular cans.
