Yorkshire Insurance & Co, 67 George Street, Edinburgh

The Yorkshire Insurance & Co building, located at 67 George Street in Edinburgh, was designed by Peddie and Kinnear and completed in 1867. This four-storey, three-bay office building features a modest Italianate style and is constructed from polished cream sandstone ashlar. Some mouldings were reduced or simplified during repairs in the 1970s.

The façade includes round-headed windows on the ground and first floors, with an arcade at the ground level that has a consoled cornice and a door in the right bay. The second floor has corniced windows with balustraded balconies, while the third floor features smaller attic windows. An eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The second floor also displays a monogrammed PK and the date 1867.

The ground floor has timber casement windows with border glazing. The roof is a combination of piend and platform styles, covered with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
