Description

The William Pitt Statue, located on George Street in Edinburgh, was created by Sir Francis Chantrey in 1833. This bronze statue stands on a square stepped plinth made of ashlar stone. The central section of the plinth is battered and panelled, and it features an inscription that reads "PITT BORN MDCCLIX DIED MDCCCXI ERECTED MDCCCXXXIII."
