Description

Dated 1895; founded 1683. 2-storey, gabled Inn with lower 2-storey service block at oblique angle at rear along Old Liston Road. Rendered with painted ashlar margins to windows. Base course.

S (STREET) ELEVATION: 3-bay range with advanced gabled bay to left. Lugged architrave to door at centre with 1683 carved/painted above lintel. Bipartite windows at ground and 1st floor to advancing bay. Datestone (1895) in gablehead.

W ELEVATION: gabled. Windows at ground floor right and 1st floor left (neighbouring single storey cottage abuts to left).

E ELEVATION: gabled. Barred window at ground floor right. Lower 2-storey, concrete pantiled addition extends N down Old Liston Road at an angle with irregular openings at ground.

Plate glass windows. Barred at ground floor. Grey slate roof, crowstepped gables. Corniced end stack.
