Description

Earlier 19th century. Large red brick built rectangular walled garden, with sandstone coping and ashlar dressings to openings; rubble facing to N external wall. Main N entrance widened and heightened 1978. Timber greenhouses to N wall, inside, comprising gabled entrance section to centre, timber pediment above doorway, with ball finial, flanked by stepped, lean-to wings; harled base with teak superstructure. Diagonal slip buttresses to SE and SW exterior angles. N wall extends continuously to E, with variety of single storey and 2-storey lean-to brick and rubble outbuildings on N side, evidence of greenhouses on S side. Square flue vents of wall heating system to N wall exterior.
