Description

Queensferry Parish Church, built between 1893 and 1894 with a later extension, is constructed from square and snecked sandstone ashlar. The church features an aisle-less nave and has a tower and spire located at the northeast corner.

The west elevation, which is the principal façade, includes a central entrance with paired 3-centre arch doors, hoodmoulds above, and a cusped bracket in between. Above the doors is a large pointed arch with tracery and another hoodmould. The façade is supported by angle buttresses and topped with a stone cross at the apex of the gable. To the right, there is a single-storey range with a single window featuring geometric tracery and a hoodmould above, along with a diagonal buttress. The tower to the left has a bipartite light with a hoodmould, a round window above it with another hoodmould, and a blocked single light. The tower is square with a polygonal stone spire and a weathervane at the apex, along with a diagonal buttress and a similar arrangement on the left return.

The south elevation features a modern extension that was dedicated on 31st January 1993. The east elevation includes a rose window and a single-storey, 3-bay range extension with a central door flanked by windows, plus two additional windows on the returns. The north elevation has four arched lights.

Inside, the church has a pointed arched ceiling supported by timber scissor beams. The north wall contains four stained glass windows, with the third from the left serving as a War Memorial Window. The interior also features a timber communion table, pulpit, and lectern that were salvaged from the Old Parish Church. There are two doors on the east wall that lead to the church office; these originally led to the vestry and Session Room. Enclosed seating in the centre of the west wall was initially for the Stewart-Clarke family but later became seats for Burgh Council members, with the town's coat of arms displayed on the wall. An organ loft is situated above the Burgh Council seats, and a door on the south wall leads into the new extension.
