Description

The gatepiers and adjoining wall at Dock Place in Leith date from around 1806. They consist of a pair of tall, octagonal-plan gatepiers made of ashlar stone, each topped with an octagonal cap. These gatepiers are situated to the south of the swing bridge.

Flanking the gatepiers are sections of tall, stugged ashlar wall that feature rounded copes. On the east side, there is a pedestrian opening, while the section of wall to the west is curved.
