Description

Circa 1860, style of David Bryce. 2-storey, 2-bay villa on corner site. Coursed, stugged sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Overhanging bracketed timber eaves; bargeboards; chamfered reveals.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: advanced to right rounded at ground, and corbelled to square at 1st floor; architraved and hoodmoulded doorway; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; single window flanking to left; single window at 1st floor; blank square tablet set in gablehead. Full-height canted window, swept to square at eaves in bay to left; blank square tablet set in gablehead. Former coach-house and service wing recessed to outer right. Modern double garage detached to E.

W (BLACKET PLACE) ELEVATION: 2-bay with single storey wing adjoining to outer left; gabled bay to left; gablet to right bay; single windows to both floors of both bays.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof; corniced gablehead stack to W; wallhead stack to S.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped rubble walls to Mayfield Terrace, swept to high walls to Blacket Place.
