45 Minto Street, Edinburgh

46 Minto Street is a pair of classical houses built in the early 19th century. The buildings are two stories high with a basement and feature a symmetrical six-bay design. They are constructed from cream sandstone ashlar, with a rusticated ground floor on the main elevation and rubble sandstone on the sides and rear. Architectural details include a base course, a dividing band course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.

On the entrance elevation, there are doorways in the outer bays with panelled doors and plate glass fanlights, supported by Doric columns in corniced doorpieces. Single windows are located above these doorways, with additional single windows on both floors in the remaining bays. The windows are made of plate glass and timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with coped wallheads and shared stacks featuring moulded cans.

The interior was not seen in 1995. The property is also accompanied by low coursed and coped boundary walls along the street, higher rubble coped mutual walls, and replacement railings. Decorative gatepiers with caps are present at No 45, along with timber pedestrian gates to the north and south.
