Description
This is a cottage located in Craighouse on the island of Jura, dating from the earlier 19th century. It is a two-storey, irregular three-bay rectangular-plan corn mill with gabled ends, constructed from random rubble and featuring massive stone lintels above the openings.
On the east (principal) elevation, there is a central square-headed doorway at ground level. To the right, there is a window on each floor, positioned close to the center, while to the left, there is a window on each floor, set wider apart.
The north (side) elevation includes a window at the first floor beneath the gablehead.
Inside, the southern end retains timber mill mechanisms, including a vertical drive wheel and a horizontal grinding millstone on the first floor, along with timber joists that divide the floors.
