Description

The bust of John Logie Baird, created in 1961, is made of bronze and sits on a concrete plinth. On the south side of the plinth, there is a bronze plaque that reads, "John Logie Baird, Native of This Town, Inventor of Television, 1888-1946, They need no candle." The west side features another bronze plaque inscribed with "Erected by his friend J. Arnold Fleming," while the east side has a plaque that states it was "Unveiled by his sister and his son Malcolm."
