9 Wharf Street, Montrose

10, 11, 12 Wharf Street is a late 18th century tenement building that features three storeys and an attic, forming part of an irregular terrace. The exterior is harled with raised painted margins.

The principal elevation is divided into two sections. The left side has a five-bay ground floor with a central doorway and two flanking windows. The first floor has five windows, although the central one is blocked, and there are three windows on the second floor, along with two piended dormers. The right section also has a five-bay ground floor, with four windows on the first floor and five on the second floor, though the second window from the left is blocked. This section also features two piended dormers. A panel at the centre of the first floor is inscribed "The SEAMEN'S HALL. This society was instituted in 1664."

The west elevation adjoins 8 Wharf Street, while the east elevation adjoins 13 Wharf Street. The building has four-pane timber sash and case windows, grey slate pitched roofs, stone skews, and skewputts, as well as broad brick stacks on the party walls.
