Description

39 Baltic Street in Montrose is an earlier 19th-century warehouse with a three-storey, three-bay rectangular plan, accompanied by a low two-storey, two-bay office that is recessed to the side. The exterior is harled, and it features louvred windows.

On the west elevation, the warehouse has a central entrance with large, timber, two-piece sliding doors. There are windows flanking this entrance to the left, which are blocked. At the first floor, there is a timber loft door in the centre, with windows on either side. The second floor has a timber loft door with a gabled head that breaks the eaves, along with smaller windows flanking it. The former office is a small two-storey building attached to the north gable, featuring a brick forestair with a steel balustrade that leads to a first-floor doorway, as well as another doorway in the warehouse beneath the stairs. There is a window at the ground and first floors to the left.

The south elevation adjoins 1 St Mary's Road, while the north elevation features the office adjoining the gable end. The east elevation has a long building with a piended roof that adjoins at the ground and first floors.

Inside the warehouse, there are timber louvred windows on the west side and various windows on the east. The pitched roof is covered with corrugated sheets and has stone skews. The office has graded slates, a stone skew, and a truncated stack, with openings that are boarded. The interior includes timber flooring and columns on the first and second floors.
