Description
28 High Street in Montrose is a late 18th century, three-storey, three-bay tenement that forms part of an irregular terrace. The building features a shop at the ground floor with a modern plate glass shopfront on the right, while a pend is located to the left. The first and second floors have regular window arrangements, with raised margins on the first floor.
The northeast elevation is adjacent to 24 High Street, and the southeast elevation is next to 32 High Street. The west elevation has a blank wall above the pend on the right and is close to No 30 on the left.
The building has eight-pane timber sash and case windows and a grey slate roof. The roof has a coped skew to the north and a tall, broad brick gablehead stack on the party wall to the north.
The interior of the building is undergoing refurbishment as of August 1997.
