Description

Kirk Gate at Glamis Castle is a late 17th century structure that was built on this site in 1774. It features square-section ashlar gatepiers with rusticated long and short-work quoins. The gatepiers have 'book rest' caps, a cornice, and carved orb finials. The rear (north) elevation is buttressed, and there are ashlar-coped, lean-to flanking walls.
